Ki-training

What is Ki?

Koichi Tohei is the founder of Aikido.

Ki is the Japanese word for energy and power. We are surrounded by Ki everywhere

Ki-aikido focuses on self-respect and respect for other human beings and the environment.

Why Ki-aikido?

Ki-aikido is a form of Aikidu which doesn't focus on the technique, but on the harmony of body, mind, and environment. Simplicity is the quintessence of the Ki-training. Because of increasing pressure, power and energy are needed to deal with the situations. Higher demands and expections can result into burn-outs, conflicts and fatigue. That's why we lose our inner contact. Ki-akido is a tool which allow us to increase our level of self-awareness. By integrating Ki-aikido in our daily lives, we will notice we need less power and energy to deal with daily situations, which influences our personal growth and development in a positive way.

By applying Ki-aikido toughness will be turned into softness towards yourself and your envirionment, which doesn't mean that we get weaker. On the contrary, we learn how to define our personal boundaries, which also gives a clear sight to our environment. The training focuses on contact with ourselves and our inner power, your Ki. We learn how call on our Ki and how to use it. The four basic principles of Ki will be introduced. It will enable us to look at ourselves in a totally other way. We will be aware of the thoughts that weaken our power and we learn how to transform these weaknesses into strengths. Exercises will be used to influence our mind and body. Ki shows us how people respond to each other's level of energy. What is Ki?
